My most adventurous escapade was working on a government contract to the National Science Foundation researching the US Navy involvement in the US/NZ Antarctic Research Program based in Christ Church, NZ. I was paid to visit NZ 3 times in order to complete the study. While learning much, and helping to produce a massive report detailing the reasons NZ didn't have the resources to continue operations without the assistance of the US Navy and it's manpower and equipment, I met my first husband, a "kiwi". We lived on a 48'sailboat at what is now the Bay Bridge Marina for 2 1/2 years. Turned out to be a "green card" story. No matter, I am the sum of my experience and I like who I am.

Since May of 2003 I have been married to George (Jud) Hughes and quite settled happily in Damascus, MD with our 3 dachshunds and a cat, and in close proximity to my brother John and his family. Life is good, and by choice, my adventures are done.
