I suppose that I chose a road less traveled but that road has been a fairly short one. Essentially I went from Bethesda, Maryland to Georgetown and became the owner of Blues Alley Jazz in Washington, DC. Over the course of my life I have been a pioneer, a presenter, an author, an educator, an impresario, an entrepreneur and a curator of arts and entertainment. I have presented every imaginable artist in the industry from Chic Corea to Dave Brubeck to Boz Scaggs to David Sanborn. Along the way I have graduated students via my non-profit programming from every major music conservatory in America. I have pioneered music education programming with many of the major cultural institutions in America also. My personal philosophy has been to maintain a low profile and lead from the rear.
